CHANGE HUNGER FAST  — sounds familiar doesn’t it? Once again the mission outreach for Annual Conference will be on hunger. Once again we are asked to collect pocket and purse change each Sunday from Pentecost until conference and to fast from some favorite treat and offer the cost of that treat to our CHANGE HUNGER FAST outreach.

In 2006 the money churches offered amounted to $22,371.60  which was used to relieve hunger through food programs in Idaho. In 2007  $27, 902.75  was offered to the Oregon food programs. WOW!  Just think what an impact our individual small change offering made!

This year the offering will be distributed by the Bishop’s Hunger Task Force to United Methodist local ministry settings in Oregon and Idaho with new or expanding hunger ministries.

When tens of thousands of Oregon and Idaho families are one meal away from hunger each one of us can do our part “to feed my sheep”. Please count your congregation’s offering and send it in check form with your attending member of the conference where it will be collected and dedicated to the elimination of hunger in Idaho and Oregon.
