Welcome to the Conference Outreach Ministry Team page…

The Outreach Ministry Team is one of the "NOW" (Nurture, Outreach and Witness) connectional ministry teams. It corresponds to the Board of Global Ministries and has the responsibility for conference ministries related to health and welfare, urban and rural ministries, local and global missions, United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM), missionary itineration, and disaster response. The Outreach Ministry Team is more like a coordinating council at which leaders and representatives of various mission-related ministries meet to coordinate and develop their efforts.

The Outreach Ministry Team leader is Rev. David King, pastor for Coos Bay UMC. His main responsibilities are developing the agenda for the semi-annual meeting of the Outreach Ministry Team and representing the team at the Connectional Ministries Table. Contact Rev. David King for general information about mission ministries in the conference and for the annual Golden Cross special offering.

Brenda St. Clair, a lay member of the St. Paul’s UMC in Idaho Falls, is the conference United Methodist Volunteers in Mission coordinator. Follow the links to current UMVIM information and opportunities or contact Brenda St. Clair directly with specific questions or requests.

Beverly Walker, a lay member of Rose City Park UMC, leads the Liberian Partnership Task Force. This unique task force is focused on the covenant relationship between the OR-ID Annual Conference and the Liberian Annual Conference. For more information about this covenant ministry or to learn how to get involved, contact Beverly Walker.

Rev. Al Trachsel, pastor of Silverton UMC, is the conference Disaster Response Coordinator. His main responsibility is to assist the annual conference in its preparedness for natural disasters. To learn more about Disaster Response, contact Al Trachsel.

Follow the links on the left of the page to learn more about each of the ministry teams related to Outreach.
