What is CEF?

Christian Educators Fellowship is a professional organization for all persons who are Christian educators in the United Methodist Church. The membership is open to professional, non-professional, and lay educators, as well as non-United Methodists who serve as Christian educators in other denominations.

Why Join CEF?

It gives opportunities for support and growth in the field of Christian education. It helps us make new friends.

It enhances communication among Christian educators throughout our Annual Conference.

It helps us keep "connected" to Christian educators across the nation through the national memberships of our chapter officers.

It puts us into a position to pursue opportunities in professional development (including professional certification and exploration of the Orders of Deacon and Elder in the United Methodist Church).

CEF will help you...

  • interpret the role of the Christian educator in the total ministry of the church;
  • develop, maintain, and interpret standards for the profession of Christian education;
  • with workshops to help Christian educators grow in their skills of teaching and relating with students;
  • develop relationships, support and fellowship with other Christian educators.

What Does it Cost to Join CEF?

Oregon-Idaho Chapter dues are only $10 per year. Memberships can be obtained by sending a check made out to "CEF" and sent to Rhoda Markus, Treasurer.  See the PDF file for the Membership Form.

National membership dues to CEF are $75 per calendar year. Information about national CEF is available by contacting one of our chapter officers, or ...
