Clergymates publishes a booklet of information of special interest to those who are married to ministers. It is distributed to all spouses of all ministers serving in the Oregon-Idaho Conference.The publication, Focus for Clergymates, originally published in 1980, and reprinted in 1983 and 1990, has been revised extensively for 1999 publication and renamed Clergymates Connection: A Guide for the Journey. The 40-page booklet includes information and practical advice about such subjects as parsonage living, Clergymates support, the conference insurance and pension plans, preparing for retirement, facing the death of a spouse, issues regarding divorce, and resources. The 1999 edition was written by a committee including Cleo Burtner and Lana Burch, Eugene; Jan Harkness, Salem; Carol Paup, Portland; and Carla Harris, Hillsboro. Other contributors included Dee Crooch, Salem; Dar Keller Kitts, McMinnville; Laura Thompson-Aue, Mary Jane Fothergill and Bob Meyers, Portland; and Eileen Weekley, Salem; and Carolyn Newfeld, Boise.
