As you may know, the Clergymate Emergency Fund exists to help the spouses of clergy in the Idaho-Oregon Conference going through separation or divorce. It is also available to assist the widows/widowers of clergy.
At the Clergymates meeting in June, 2005, it was also decided that the spouses of clergy can request assistance from the fund should they find themselves or their families facing "extraordinary circumstances."
Requests under any category are limited to $2,000. Requests for assistance are usually made through the district superintendent to the chair of the Clergymate Emergency Fund, with the request being approved or denied by the officers of the fund (who also decide on the amount to be granted).
