Second spouses of clergy often find themselves in situations that have added challenges to that of being a first spouse. Whether in a current marriage because of the death or divorce of the previous spouse, there are numerous challenges and joys in life.Coming into the ministry later in your spouse’s career can present some challenges. If the marriage occurs later in life there are some issues of a ready-made home and possibly career tracks for you as well as your spouse. Finding oneself suddenly living in parsonages and defining your role as a clergy mate can be a daunting task.Those who have been through that understand the difficult position that may face the second spouse.
