Welcome to the Connectional Ministries Table (CMT) page!
Connectional Ministries is one of the three empowerment systems of the annual conference dedicated to making disciples of Jesus Christ by equipping local ministry-settings and providing a connection for ministry beyond the local level. It is a key empowerment system in that represents the discipling programs of the Oregon-Idaho United Methodist connection.
At its center is the Connectional Ministries Table, the coordinating team of conference staff, officers and representatives from the major program ministry teams.
The ministry teams affiliated with connectional ministries include: the Nurture Ministry Team, which "nurtures" Christian discipleship through three focus areas - worship, Christian education and stewardship; the Outreach Ministry Team, which focuses on Christian mission and coordinates the work of United Methodist Volunteers in Mission, Disaster Response, and the Liberian Partnership team; and the Witness Ministry Team, which attends to our Christian witness of evangelism and social concerns and includes the work of Peace with Justice. In addition to the "N.O.W." ministry teams, connectional ministries include the Campus Ministries and Higher Education Ministry Team (CMHEMT), the Council of Ethnic and Racial Leadership (COREL) (which resources the work of the Native American Ministries Council and the Hispanic Ministries Council); the Youth Ministries Team, the Board of Lay Ministry (BoLM) and the three advocacy commissions; namely, the Commission of Religion and Race (CORR), the Commission on the Status and Role of Women (COSROW), and the Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns (CUIC).
Two independent ministries also relate to connectional ministries--the Camp and Retreat Ministries Team (CRMT) and Conference Communications.
All the connectional ministries teams meet semi-annually for the Connectional Ministries Convocation at Parkrose UMC.
