One of the major decisions of the 2007 Annual Conference Session was to affirm a new "Strategic Direction" for the Oregon-Idaho Conference.
Follow the links below for information about the Strategic Direction, including: the presentation made by the Conference Leadership Team, the new conference Mission/Vision Statement and four Missional Priorities, and the Goals and Commitment to Action by the Conference Leadership Team.
CLT Presentation (doc)
The Conference Leadership Team had fun presenting the Strategic Direction to the Annual Conference Session. The Rev. Kim Fields developed a creative script for a skit based on an "elevator" concept introduced by our consultant, Jim Jose. While there were a lot of impromptu lines and last minute changes, follow this link for the notes of the script. [ Download/View File ]
Strategic Direction: Part One (doc)
The main piece of the Strategic Direction affirmed by the members of the annual conference session includes a new, brief Mission/Vision Statement and four Missional Priorities for the conference. The Mission/Vision Statement was designed to be a brief and memorable statement that defines our overall purpose as a conference and what it will look like when we are being true to our calling. Strategic Direction: Part Two (doc)
While the primary affirmation of the 2007 Annual Conference is to the Mission/Vision Statement and four Missional Priorities, the Conference Leadership Team intends to make the Strategic Direction more than simply a printed statement. The "Goals and Commitment to Action" lists ideas of specific ways the Conference Leadership Team hopes to bring the Missional Priorities to life throughout our connection. The particulars are not set in stone and may change over time, but these are some places the CLT will start "digging into" the Strategic Direction through partnering with the various agencies and entities of the annual conference.
